Breaking through the language barrier

with colourful Physipics Frames and

‘language of Physics’ Activity Frames

There’s more to Physics than just vocabulary …

… practical investigation of variables and how they’re related

… step by step thinking …

… such as wider world contexts …

… using models …

BUT … the vocabulary of Physics can be formal.

Most students need a lot of targeted help with the language.

That’s a major obstacle for a lot of my students.

Physipics is not a complete learning resource. It exists to support GCSE students in getting over that language hurdle.

These FREE resource samples are second edition. There are now …

… ADDED Physipics Frames, allowing a big reduction in concept density

… ADDED Activity Frames, for language learning

… ADDED Contextual Frames, stressing the importance of the words in the wider world, through carefully selected video links

There is substantial sample material here but it is just a small proportion of what is possible. Please use the contact button for updates.

Sets of cards are available, printed and laminated professionally.

With one card for each full-colour Physipics Frame plus photocopiable Activity Frames.

Frame size approximately 20.8 x 11.6 cm

Physipics Frames Set W2

A note about non-linear learning:

Students experience a lot of linear learning, whereby they start at the top of the page and passively work their way to the bottom.

Physipics content Frames are a touch less linear. In order to complete the ‘word-puzzle’ style of activity students must actively scan the Frames. More thinking is required, and more retention is the consequence.
